Deck overview

Smaug the Impenetrable commands a high-velocity Rakdos treasure burn deck that turns self-inflicted noncombat damage into overwhelming mana generation and direct-damage kills. Because the commander has indestructible and haste, the deck accelerates into casting Smaug by Turn 4. It then targets Smaug with efficient self-damage spells such as Cut Propulsion, Blasphemous Act, or Star of Extinction to instantly create dozens of Treasure tokens. These massive treasure reserves fuel table-wide burn finishers including Crackle with Power, Exsanguinate, or token-drain engines like Mirkwood Bats and Marionette Apprentice. The list also features a lethal loop with Blazing Sunsteel, redirecting Smaug's damage triggers back into itself to create infinite treasures and burn every opponent.
