Umbris

Format: Commander

Commander: Umbris, Fear Manifest

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Dimir Horror/Nightmare tribal deck is helmed by Umbris, Fear Manifest, who grows proportionally to the number of cards opponents own in exile. The primary strategy is to rapidly exile opponents' libraries through spells like Glimpse the Unthinkable, Maddening Cacophony, and Tasha's Hideous Laughter, while repeatedly triggering Umbris's ETB with flicker effects (Conjurer's Closet, Thassa, Deep-Dwelling) to stockpile exile and make Umbris enormous. The win condition is commander damage-delivered via unblockable equipment (Whispersilk Cloak, Trailblazer's Boots, Rogue's Passage)-or direct-drain spells like Essence Harvest and Rite of Consumption. The deck also packs copy effects (Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, Spark Double, Rite of Replication) and trigger multipliers (Panharmonicon, Virtue of Knowledge) to accelerate exile accumulation. A suite of graveyard hate and conditional control pieces (Toxrill, the Corrosive, Sire of Stagnation) provides incremental advantage while grinding opponents down.
