Deck overview

This deck is a high-impact Gruul Voltron build centered on Wolverine, Best There Is. Wolverine's static ability doubles all damage he deals, turning modest power boosts into lethal commander damage strikes. The deck ramps on Turns 1 and 2 to cast Wolverine on Turn 3, then layers +1/+1 counters, equipment, and power multipliers like Xenagos, God of Revels, Halana and Alena, Partners, and Berserk on Turns 4 and 5. With 11 power, Wolverine deals 22 commander damage in a single hit, threatening rapid single-target eliminations. Mass-damage payoffs like Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar and Chandra's Ignition convert single-target hits into simultaneous table wipes. A robust suite of low-cost hexproof, indestructible, and redirection spells defends Wolverine from opposing spot removal while fight spells turn his doubled damage into efficient board control.
