Deck overview

This mono-black Commander deck executes an aggressive tribal swarm strategy powered by 20 copies of Rat Colony and commanded by Marrow-Gnawer. The primary game plan curves low-cost Rats in the opening turns, deploys Marrow-Gnawer on Turn 4, and begins exponentially multiplying Rat tokens on Turn 5. Because Marrow-Gnawer grants all Rats fear, the swarm quickly delivers unblockable lethal combat damage by Turn 6 to 8. The deck is reinforced by high-synergy artifacts such as Thrumming Stone, which cascades through the library to cast a dozen Rats in a single turn, and Thornbite Staff, which creates an infinite token loop when equipped to the commander. Aristocrat payoffs like Bastion of Remembrance, Mirkwood Bats, and The Meathook Massacre punish opponents for clearing the board, while the two-card combo of Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond offers an alternate instant-win drain loop.
