Valgavoth by user6153799

Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls leads a Rakdos 'group slug' deck that punishes every spell, draw, land drop, and upkeep. The primary plan is to deploy pain permanents (The Lord of Pain, Painful Quandary, Mogis) that make opponents lose life on their own turns, turning each life-loss event into a card and a +1/+1 counter for Valgavoth. Secondary axes are a Valgavoth-fuelled finisher via Chandra's Ignition or Temur Battle Rage, and an X-spell finish with Exsanguinate, amplified by Fiendish Duo, Fiery Emancipation, and Wound Reflection. There is no hidden commander; the deck is built squarely around Valgavoth's draw-and-pump engine, with a dense taxation package as backup.
