Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Aristocrats and Reanimator strategy led by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The deck focuses on developing mana through Swamps and mana multipliers like Crypt Ghast and Nirkana Revenant, while filling the graveyard with high-impact threats using Buried Alive and Vile Entomber. In the mid-game, it establishes oppressive board control through asymmetric sacrifice engines such as Grave Pact, Butcher of Malakir, and Sothera, the Supervoid. Deploying Avacyn turns every sacrifice outlet into an engine of continuous value, returning nontoken creatures like Plaguecrafter, Archon of Cruelty, and Disciple of Bolas to the battlefield at each end step. Opponents are steadily stripped of creatures and cards in hand while life totals are drained through Bastion of Remembrance, Blood Artist, and Ayara, First of Locthwain. The deck decisively closes games around Turn 8 through mass reanimation, heavy flying combat, and life loss multiplication from Archfiend of Despair.
