Deck overview

This deck is a focused Mono-White Equipment Voltron strategy built around Cloud, Midgar Mercenary. Cloud provides unmatched consistency by acting as an Equipment tutor in the command zone while doubling triggered abilities of attached Equipment. The primary game plan deploys Cloud on Turn 2 to find engine pieces like Sword of Hearth and Home or Hammer of Nazahn, ramping lands and chaining additional Equipment tutors upon dealing combat damage. By Turn 5, Cloud equips devastating augmentations like Colossus Hammer, Buster Sword, or Genji Glove through cheat enablers such as Forge Anew and Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist. The deck protects its lethal attacks with an extensive suite of free spells, turn-silence effects like Grand Abolisher, and comprehensive phased protection via Teferi's Protection. While inherently bounded by sequential combat steps, the deck achieves decisive clock acceleration through multi-combat triggers and high commander damage output.
