Deck overview

This deck runs a Dimir Horror and Nightmare strategy led by Umbris, Fear Manifest. The primary plan uses asymmetric exile effects and typal triggers to banish opponents' libraries and grow Umbris into a massive commander damage threat. Early turns focus on mana setup and deploying continuous exile pieces such as Leyline of the Void or Dauthi Voidwalker. Once Umbris enters on turn 5, large-scale exile spells like Tasha's Hideous Laughter instantly boost its power to lethal levels. Because Umbris must eliminate opponents across consecutive attack steps without inherent evasion or haste, the deck supports its combat clock with a deep counterspell suite, board sweepers, and alternate win conditions like Consuming Aberration and Toxrill, the Corrosive. The result is a resilient, disruptive midrange-control engine that steadily strips opposing resources while threatening one-shot combat knockouts.
