Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Dimir midrange reanimator strategy helmed by Mirko, Obsessive Theorist. The core game plan focuses on using cheap surveil cards to simultaneously sculpt draws, fill the graveyard with high-impact creatures, and grow Mirko with +1/+1 counters. At your end step, Mirko reanimates creatures with power lower than his own, cheating mana costs on threats such as Massacre Wurm, Doom Whisperer, and Lorthos, the Tidemaker. The deck features counter-manipulation tools like Ferropede and Hexavus to remove finality counters, allowing repeated recursion of key creatures. Evasion enablers such as Wonder and Filth paired with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth ensure combat damage connects cleanly across the table. While the deck boasts resilient value generation and interactive counterspells, its reliance on the combat step and vulnerable graveyard setup results in a measured clock that closes games around Turn 9.
