Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius control build helmed by Elminster. The primary game plan revolves around playing efficient early scry spells and mana rocks, casting Elminster on Turn 4, and manipulating the top of the library using cards like Brainstorm, Dream Cache, and Telling Time. On Turn 5, Elminster's -3 ability exiles high-mana-value spells such as Dig Through Time, Treasure Cruise, or Tidespout Tyrant to deploy a massive army of 1/1 flying Faerie Dragon tokens. In addition to token generation, Elminster's passive ability turns scry effects into massive cost reductions, enabling cheap casts of high-impact spells and board wipes like Supreme Verdict and Cyclonic Rift. Late-game turns close out the game through evasive aerial combat supported by heavy bounce control engines like Hullbreaker Horror and Tidespout Tyrant.
