Deck overview

Thranduil, the Elvenking leads a Sultai Elfball deck that combines classic elf swarming with a fast graveyard-activated combo engine. The primary plan uses cheap mana dorks to accelerate into graveyard enablers like Buried Alive and Jarad's Orders. By entombing Devoted Druid, Immaculate Magistrate, and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, Thranduil gains their activated abilities directly from the graveyard. Once Thranduil untaps, it loops Magistrate's counter placement with Druid's untap cost to create infinite mana and infinite power, then activates Jarad's ability to sacrifice a massive creature and drain all three opponents simultaneously. If the combo is disrupted, the deck pivots into broad token aggression using Lathril, Blade of the Elves, Elvish Archdruid, and Wolverine Riders, or executes an alternate infinite mana line with Incubation Druid and Freed from the Real. Supported by blue counterspells and asymmetric wipes like Raise the Palisade, the deck balances speed, reach, and resilience.
