Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Izzet Spellslinger Burn strategy commanded by Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph. The deck maximizes Ghyrson's ability by converting every 1-damage ping from permanents and spells into 3 damage. Dense redundancy across low-cost pingers such as Firebrand Archer, Kessig Flamebreather, and Coruscation Mage ensures that virtually any cast noncreature spell shocks each opponent. Mass-damage spells like End the Festivities and Electrickery function as one-sided board wipes that simultaneously decimate opposing utility creatures and burn player life totals. Card draw engines including Curiosity and Ophidian Eye attach to pingers or Ghyrson to restock hands rapidly with each trigger. While the deck boasts rapid burn velocity, it relies heavily on creature presence and has limited stack interaction and enchantment removal, leaving it vulnerable to wipes and faster combo strategies.
