Deck overview

This deck is a Mardu Vampire tribal and lifegain midrange strategy commanded by Licia, Sanguine Tribune. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost lifelink creatures and mana rocks during the opening turns to discount Licia's casting cost. Once assembled on Turn 4, Licia grows rapidly by converting life payments into permanent +1/+1 counters. The deck translates high life totals and massive power into decisive table pressure through cards like Chandra's Ignition, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Astarion, the Decadent, and Fiery Emancipation. Even when the commander is contested, a deep bench of Vampire lords, token generators, and drain engines like Sanctum Seeker and Bloodline Keeper maintain board presence and apply steady damage. Robust spot removal in white, black, and red controls opposing threats, while protective spells like Boros Charm and Flawless Maneuver safeguard the team from sweepers.
