Deck overview

This Rakdos Treasure Aristocrats deck leverages Smaug, Wicked Worm in the command zone to convert artifact-heavy multiplayer boards into immediate mana velocity and sustained card advantage. The game plan opens with efficient low-curve ramp and early treasure producers such as Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer, Generous Plunderer, and Sol Ring, enabling a Turn 4 deployment of Smaug. Upon entering, Smaug punishes opponents by generating tapped Treasures scaled to the table's artifact count, setting up an explosive Turn 5 untap. Smaug's static ability turns every subsequent spell cast with Treasure mana into card draw, fueling chains of spells that deploy redundant aristocrat and burn payoffs including Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, Marionette Master, and Ingenious Artillerist. The deck swiftly closes games on Turn 6 by sacrificing accumulated Treasures to trigger lethal table-wide drain or funneling surplus mana into a decisive Torment of Hailfire or Exsanguinate, shielded by free and low-cost redirection spells like Deflecting Swat and Return the Favor.
