Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black Aristocrats control engine built around Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker. The strategy focuses on recurring creatures with power 1 or less at the beginning of each player's end step. By combining free sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer, Carrion Feeder, and Ashnod's Altar with disruptive 1-power creatures, the deck extracts quadruple value from its cards across every table rotation. Looping Burglar Rat and Virus Beetle empties opposing hands, while Abyssal Gatekeeper and Grave Pact suppress opposing boards. Life totals are drained steadily with Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Serrated Scorpion, and Bastion of Remembrance. The deck relies on high functional redundancy in sacrifice outlets and fodder to establish its engine by Turn 5. While the deck generates massive card flow and oppressive hand control, it remains dependent on keeping its fragile 2/2 commander in play and vulnerable to graveyard hate.
