Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Treasure and Dragon Midrange deck commanded by Smaug the Impenetrable. The central strategy revolves around deploying efficient early Treasure generators like Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer, Magda, Brazen Outlaw, and Prosper, Tome-Bound to ramp into Smaug ahead of curve. Once Smaug is on the battlefield, the deck exploits his ability to generate Treasure whenever he takes noncombat damage by targeting him with high-damage self-harm spells such as Cut Propulsion, Self-Destruct, or Ajani's Anguish. Because Smaug is indestructible, he survives the damage while generating 8 to 16 Treasure tokens in a single burst. This massive mana surplus immediately enables game-ending upkeep win conditions through Revel in Riches or Hellkite Tyrant, or fuels explosive combat and burn finishes using Terror of the Peaks, Fiery Emancipation, and Smaug the Magnificent.
