Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Dragon tribal strategy led by Sarkhan, Soul Aflame. The game plan revolves around deploying Sarkhan on Turn 3 to reduce the casting cost of all subsequent Dragon spells by one generic mana. Once Sarkhan is on the battlefield, casting Dragons triggers his ability to become a legendary copy of each entering Dragon until end of turn. This duplication doubles your board impact and aerial firepower, turning mid-game threats like Rapacious Dragon and Dragon Trainer into immediate pressure. By Turn 6, resolving explosive payoffs such as Terror of Mount Velus or Tyrant of Kher Ridges creates overwhelming combat steps that deal heavy flying damage across the table. The deck supports this aggressive game plan with red burn removal, blue creature lockdown auras, and light countermagic to disrupt key opposing plays while steadily building toward game-ending aerial attacks.
