Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Grixis Midrange and Reanimator strategy commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The deck leverages efficient 2-CMC mana rocks and cost reducers to cast Sauron ahead of curve on Turn 4. Opponents casting spells rapidly build a massive Orc Army token, which then attacks on Turn 5 to trigger The Ring Tempts You. Sauron converts every Ring trigger into a fresh hand of four cards, simultaneously loading the graveyard with massive creature payoffs like Archfiend of Ifnir, Cavern-Hoard Dragon, and Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The deck exploits discard synergies and cheap reanimation spells such as Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Living Death to create overwhelming board presence.
