Deck overview

This is a classic Gruul stompy deck helmed by Xenagos, God of Revels, built to deploy enormous trampling creatures and double their power with the commander's combat trigger. The primary plan is ramp into a big threat, let Xenagos turn it into a hasted monster, and close through combat damage - accelerated by a dense suite of cheat-into-play effects (Ilharg, the Raze-Boar, See the Unwritten, Selvala's Stampede, Lukka, Coppercoat Outcast) and extra-combat engines (Moraug, Fury of Akoum, Anzrag, the Quake-Mole). Secondary paths include poison via Tyrranax Rex's toxic 4, permanent destruction on attack from Combustion Man, and the planeswalker ultimates of Xenagos, the Reveler and Lukka, Coppercoat Outcast. The deck is a straightforward, high-variance beatdown machine with almost no stack interaction.
