Deck overview

This Selesnya midrange deck turns lifegain into overwhelming combat power. Commanded by Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn, the strategy pairs low-cost lifegain creatures like Soul Warden and Essence Channeler with steady counter distribution. Each point of life gained converts into +1/+1 counters at your end step, rapidly turning small utility creatures into towering threats. The deck scales into the mid-game with powerful force multipliers like Nykthos Paragon, Blossoming Bogbeast, and Ageless Entity, granting mass buffs and trample across the board. While the deck boasts high life totals and resilient graveyard recovery via Sun Titan and Smile at Death, it wins entirely through traditional combat steps. It maintains solid permanent removal to handle opposing threats, though it remains vulnerable to well-timed sweepers and lacks stack-based counterspells. Pilots should prioritize establishing early lifegain triggers before casting Lathiel to maximize immediate value and close games across turns 6 through 8.
