Deck overview

This is a Dimir theft-and-control deck helmed by Garland, Royal Kidnapper, built around the monarch mechanic. The plan is to make an opponent the monarch, use Garland's trigger to steal their best creature, and then leverage the static buff - stolen creatures get +2/+2 and can't be sacrificed - to win through combat. The 99 is packed with redundant theft effects (Mind Flayer, Hostage Taker, Shield Broker, Keiga, the Tide Star), a goad subtheme that forces opponents to attack each other, and a reanimation package that steals from opponents' graveyards (Sepulchral Primordial, Shark Shredder, Killer Clone, Bringer of the Last Gift). Secondary win paths include milling with Consuming Aberration and The Cyber-Controller. It is a slow, value-driven grind deck with no fast combo and no board-level protection.
