Deck overview

This Gruul deck utilizes Bumi, Unleashed to turn lands into aggressive combat threats through Earthbending. The deck ramps quickly on early turns using efficient 1-2 CMC spells to cast Bumi on turn 4. When Bumi enters, he earthbends 4 onto a land, animating it into a 4/4 creature with haste. On turn 5, Bumi attacks and connects with trample, untapping all lands and granting an immediate second combat phase for land creatures. This engine generates immense combat damage and doubles available mana in the postcombat main phase. Redundant payoffs like Toph, Greatest Earthbender and Sylvan Awakening expand the land army, while counter doublers like Branching Evolution scale creature power. The deck finishes games between turns 5 and 7 through overwhelming combat steps or an infinite combat loop with Aggravated Assault. It recovers quickly from removal thanks to Earthbend returning lost lands tapped.
