Deck overview

This deck is a combo-control strategy helmed by Mairsil, the Pretender, designed to turn the commander into an all-in-one win condition and value engine. By using targeted entomb effects like Buried Alive and Lively Dirge, the deck places critical ability-granting creatures into the graveyard to be exiled with cage counters. Caging Aetherling provides virtually untouchable protection and blink utility, while Asmodeus the Archfiend circumvents draw drawbacks to fill the hand with cards. The primary win condition revolves around Quicksilver Elemental, whose ability allows Mairsil to copy its own abilities, creating fresh instances that ignore Mairsil's once-per-turn activation restriction. This enables infinite mana loops with Pili-Pala and unlimited damage via Walking Ballista or Spikeshot Elder. Supported by interaction and board wipes, the deck methodically sets up an unanswerable board state.
