derevi tap that asss by Profferor

Format: Commander

Commander: Derevi, Empyrial Tactician

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Derevi, Empyrial Tactician deck is a tempo-control build that uses the commander's untap/tap ability to generate mana advantage, tap down blockers, and trigger a suite of "whenever a creature deals combat damage" draw effects. The primary win condition is accumulating damage with small, unblockable creatures (e.g., Mist-Cloaked Herald, Slither Blade) while drawing into more threats and interaction. Secondary win conditions include The Millennium Calendar (slowly building time counters via Derevi's untap triggers) and the incidental value of cards like Hylda of the Icy Crown. The deck eschews infinite combos, relying instead on a dense instant-speed interaction suite (11 counterspells, many bounce spells) to control the stack and keep the board clear. Derevi's ability to be put onto the battlefield from the command zone for {1}{G}{W}{U} makes her a resilient mana-sink and engine, but the deck's overall speed is low because it lacks explosive mana or haste.
