Commander: Gwenom, Remorseless

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-black life-payment combo deck helmed by Gwenom, Remorseless, built around her attack trigger unlocking a top-deck casting engine that converts life into mana. The primary plan is to ramp into Gwenom, protect her with boots and regeneration effects, then attack to chain spells off the top of the library - paying life instead of mana - while life-gain engines like Exquisite Blood, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Staff of the Death Magus sustain the payments. The deck closes through an infinite life-drain loop (Exquisite Blood + Bloodthirsty Conqueror, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Enduring Tenacity), or through Aetherflux Reservoir and Bolas's Citadel as life-gain payoffs. Secondary lines include Gray Merchant of Asphodel devotion drain with recursion from The Soul Stone and Volrath's Stronghold, plus commander damage via unblockable equipment.
