Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Grixis deck is built around Sauron, the Dark Lord as a value engine and Army commander. The primary plan is to cast Sauron, use amass effects to grow a single Army token, and close with commander plus Army combat. Secondary paths include Saruman, the White Hand turning every noncreature spell into Army growth, Lord of the Nazgul generating a Wraith swarm, and There and Back Again producing Smaug and treasure. The Ring tempts mechanic fuels Sauron's discard-hand, draw-four ability and enables graveyard synergies like Anger. The hidden commander is Saruman, the White Hand, who provides the most explosive amass scaling. The deck is a midrange value deck that wins through incremental board presence rather than combo.
