Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx kindred midrange list piloted by The Ur-Sphinx. The deck leverages eminence and specialized tribal cost reducers to deploy high-CMC, high-impact flying Sphinxes well ahead of curve. Early turns focus on establishing mana acceleration through 2-CMC mana rocks, Urza's Incubator, and early card advantage engines like Rhystic Study and Mystic Remora. By Turn 4, the deck deploys central engines such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign or Kindred Discovery, generating massive card advantage and chaining additional Sphinxes. The critical onset arrives on Turn 5 with game-warping threats like Magister Sphinx, Medomai the Ageless, and Elenda and Azor. A robust interaction suite of free counterspells (Fierce Guardianship, Force of Will) and premier protection (Teferi's Protection) defends the airborne army. The game typically closes on Turn 7 through decisive aerial combat damage facilitated by an overloaded Cyclonic Rift or Kindred Judgment.
