Thor - Mono Red by user3697910

Format: Commander

Commander: Thor, God of Thunder

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-red deck helmed by Thor, God of Thunder is a hybrid spellslinger/equipment strategy that leverages Thor's triggered ability to convert every noncreature spell into direct damage, while his ETB provides recursion from the graveyard. The primary win condition is assembling infinite mana through rituals and copy spells-most often a Reiterate loop with a ritual like Mana Geyser-then finishing with an uncounterable Banefire or a Comet Storm spread across opponents. A robust combat backup uses Thor equipped with Mjolnir, Hammer of Thor alongside damage doublers (Furnace of Rath, Dictate of the Twin Gods, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus) to one-shot players in a single attack chain, further extended by the extra-combat Bloodthirster. The commander is a powerful value piece but not essential to the deck's core combos, allowing the plan to execute independently of Thor.
