Deck overview

This deck is a focused Orzhov lifegain strategy led by Karlov of the Ghost Council. The core engine leverages high redundancy in low-mana lifegain triggers—including Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, and Authority of the Consuls—to rapidly place +1/+1 counters on Karlov. This fuels both an aggressive commander damage clock and a repeatable creature-exile control engine. Secondary win conditions include group life drain via Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Marauding Blight-Priest, tall secondary threats like Voice of the Blessed, and alternate win lines such as Felidar Sovereign. The deck features an efficient suite of spot exile removal and asymmetric taxing effects. However, it lacks dedicated tutors, countermagic, and compact infinite combos, leaving its multi-turn combat finish vulnerable to board wipes and targeted interaction.
