Deck overview

This deck is an Equipment-focused Voltron strategy led by Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER. The primary game plan revolves around deploying Equipment during the early turns, casting Cloud on Turn 5, and using his enter-the-battlefield trigger to attach high-impact weapons like Colossus Hammer without paying equip costs. Because Cloud has innate haste, he immediately attacks to draw cards and create two Treasure tokens once his power reaches 7 or higher. From this initial burst of velocity, the deck threatens lethal commander damage against individual opponents in one or two hits. Supporting creatures like Stoneforge Mystic and Cloud, Midgar Mercenary find key armaments, while cards such as Forge Anew, Puresteel Paladin, and Sigarda's Aid provide equip cost reduction and instant-speed flexibility. Defensive tools like Dawn's Truce, Champion's Helm, and Darksteel Plate shield Cloud from removal. The deck closes games across successive turns using combat doublers, extra combat steps, and unblockable combat evasion.
