Proxy: The Necromancer

Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

Sauron, the Dark Lord leads a high-powered Grixis combo deck built for speed, consistency, and redundancy. While Sauron provides an imposing body, ward protection, army generation, and hand-filtering through Ring temptation triggers, the primary game plan does not rely on him. Instead, the deck quickly gathers resources to execute compact, game-ending combinations. The primary win condition is casting Thassa's Oracle alongside Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact to instantly exile the library and win on the spot. Alternatively, the deck uses Underworld Breach loops with Lion's Eye Diamond and Brain Freeze to mill out the library, generate massive storm, and achieve victory.
