Deck overview

This mono-black kindred deck centers on Marrow-Gnawer to multiply Rat tokens exponentially and grant the entire swarm fear. Early turns focus on deploying cheap utility Rats and mana acceleration to prepare for the commander's arrival on Turn 4 or 5. Once active, Marrow-Gnawer doubles your Rat count each turn, quickly building an unblockable lethal board. The deck also features a game-ending two-card infinite combo with Thornbite Staff, which untaps Marrow-Gnawer whenever a sacrificed Rat dies to generate unbounded tokens and death triggers. Strong card draw from engines like Skullclamp and Idol of Oblivion keeps resources flowing, while aristocrats pieces like Bastion of Remembrance and Valley Rotcaller turn token creation into direct life loss. Mass reanimation spells provide solid resilience against board wipes, though the deck remains vulnerable to non-creature permanents and exile removal.
