Deck overview

This deck is a focused mono-black aristocrats engine helmed by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. Its core strategy revolves around establishing continuous sacrifice-and-drain loops using low-cost creatures, free sacrifice outlets, and life-draining triggers. The primary win condition leverages Warren Soultrader, Gravecrawler, and a drain piece like Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat to drain opponents infinitely on Turn 5. Backing up the combo is an extensive suite of sacrifice-based attrition cards such as Grave Pact, Braids, Arisen Nightmare, and Plaguecrafter, which keep opposing creature boards suppressed. While the deck possesses explosive mana rituals and strong black tutors to assemble its pieces quickly, it remains vulnerable to graveyard exile and instant-speed removal due to a complete absence of reactive stack protection or anti-removal shielding. Secondary win routes involve massive life swings from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Massacre Wurm, and mass reanimation via Rise of the Dark Realms.
