Deck overview

This Mardu deck is a board-wipe control strategy built around Zurgo Helmsmasher. The core plan is to deploy Zurgo early, use his innate haste and indestructibility during your own turn to survive repeated symmetric board wipes, and grind out commander-damage victories. The deck runs an extraordinary density of mass removal-over 30 spells-to keep the battlefield clear while Zurgo chips away at opponents. Secondary win conditions include Chandra's Ignition to convert Zurgo's power into direct damage, and Worldslayer to reset the board entirely while Zurgo remains. The deck is extremely linear and commander-centric, with almost no card draw or tutors, relying entirely on drawing into its wipes and Zurgo.
