Deck overview

This deck is an Esper control and spellslinger strategy commanded by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The primary game plan focuses on controlling the early board with attack taxes like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda, efficient spot removal, and asymmetric sweepers such as Farewell and Supreme Verdict. Once Y'shtola is deployed, every noncreature spell with mana value 3 or greater drains 2 life from each opponent, gains 2 life, and triggers Y'shtola's end-step card draw. The deck compounds this advantage using Curiosity and Ophidian Eye, drawing multiple cards per cast. It closes games around turns 6 to 7 using powerful finishers, including Bolas's Citadel, large Exsanguinate casts, or compact combos such as Grand Architect with Pili-Pala and Thassa's Oracle with Demonic Consultation. While lacking fast mana and generic tutors, it possesses resilient interaction and consistent card replenishment.
