This Orzhov deck combines efficient proactive stax with a potent lifegain engine and an infinite drain combo. Commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel, the deck converts life gain into overwhelming card advantage. Early turns focus on deploying disruptive stax pieces like Drannith Magistrate, Archon of Emeria, and Blind Obedience to hinder opposing development and prevent fast combos. Once opponents are constrained, the deck ramps into Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel or value engines like Black Market Connections, drawing through the library using incidental lifegain from Soul Sisters and drain effects. The primary win condition is an infinite two-card loop combining a gain-on-loss effect (Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror) with a loss-on-gain effect (Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or South Wind Avatar). With protection from Grand Abolisher and Silence, the deck reliably closes out games on turn 6 in a single decisive turn.
