Deck overview

This Golgari Elf tribal deck, helmed by Tyvar the Bellicose, is a classic Elfball mana-engine build with a heavy +1/+1 counter subtheme. The primary plan is to flood the battlefield with cheap Elves, convert that mass into explosive mana through Priest of Titania, Elvish Archdruid, and Marwyn, the Nurturer, then close the game out with a massive trampling combat step from Overwhelming Stampede or Allosaurus Shepherd's overrun ability. Tyvar's static ability pushes the deck over the top: every mana dork that taps for mana also grows itself with +1/+1 counters, while his attack trigger gives the whole team deathtouch to break board stalls. Secondary win paths include drain synergies from The Meathook Massacre, Bastion of Remembrance, and Poison-Tip Archer, which also punish opponents for wiping the board. The deck trades infinite combos for overwhelming creature density and mana-count inevitability.
