Deck overview

Gev, Scaled Scorch leads a Rakdos group-slug and Lizard-tribal burn deck that drains the table simultaneously while building a wide board of counter-buffed creatures. The primary strategy deals early noncombat damage to each opponent using cheap, efficient enablers like Spear Spewer, Iridescent Vinelasher, and Boltwave. Damaging all three opponents maximizes Gev's ability, causing subsequently cast creatures to enter with up to three additional +1/+1 counters. The deck amplifies this board pressure with asymmetrical damage multipliers such as Torbran, Thane of Red Fell, Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might, and Purphoros, God of the Forge, converting incidental 1-damage pings into devastating table-wide life loss. High-synergy payoffs like Rakdos, Lord of Riots turn massive life-loss turns into explosive creature deployments. Although vulnerable to mass creature board wipes, the deck leverages dense redundancy across its burn and amplifier suites to close out games across two response cycles.
