Kaalia of the Vast (Magic for the Working Class) by user7528837

Format: Commander

Commander: Kaalia of the Vast

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Kaalia of the Vast is the engine of a combat-focused reanimator-light deck that cheats Angels, Demons, and Dragons into play attacking. The primary plan is to land Kaalia, protect her, and quickly assemble evasive flying beaters. Isshin doubles Kaalia's trigger, while Gisela and Warstorm Surge multiply the damage. There is no hidden commander; the only double-faced card, Archangel Avacyn, is usually played on its front side for a one-turn team indestructible shield, with Avacyn the Purifier as a situational sweeper if a non-Angel dies. The deck wins by accumulating flying commander-cheated damage across multiple attack steps, using reanimation as a backup after wipes.
