Deck overview

Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor leads an aggressive mono-black tempo engine that converts cheap, evasive 1- and 2-drop creatures into sustained card advantage. By deploying threats like Changeling Outcast, Tormented Soul, and Vault Skirge on turns 1 and 2, Gix hits the board on Turn 3 and immediately draws extra cards through combat. This card flow guarantees land drops and fuels mana engines such as Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Grim Hireling. On Turn 6, the deck leverages its deep card and mana reserves to deploy game-ending threats, including Peer into the Abyss, Gix's library-exile activation, or massive life drain via Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate. An ultra-efficient creature interaction suite with free removal like Deadly Rollick and Snuff Out safeguards early attacks, while asymmetric hate pieces like Dauthi Voidwalker and Orcish Bowmasters punish opposing strategies.
