Deck overview

This deck pairs an aggressive Voltron strategy with a resilient Aristocrats engine. Super Shredder enters on Turn 2 and grows whenever any permanent leaves the battlefield. The deck feeds Shredder using disposable tokens from Ophiomancer, Jadar, and Bloodghast, sacrificed through outlets like Priest of Forgotten Gods and Viscera Seer. This sacrifice loop pumps Super Shredder into a lethal commander damage threat while triggering life drain from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Syr Konrad. Evasion lands like Rogue's Passage and Turtle Lair ensure Shredder pushes through opposing blockers. If Shredder is removed, the deck easily pivots to a drain-and-swarm strategy powered by Shredder, Shadow Master and mass death triggers. While strong in creature combat and attrition, the deck is vulnerable to artifact and enchantment threats due to mono-black removal limitations.
