Commander: Loki, the Deceiver

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Loki, the Deceiver pilots a Grixis Villain-tribal aggro/tempo deck. The commander's attack trigger creates a tapped-and-attacking nonlegendary copy of another Villain, turning every combat into a mini-swarm turn, while his second trigger converts successful Villain damage into cards. The deck's connective tissue is connive/discard synergy: Baron Strucker, HYDRA Overlord, Prowler, Clawed Thief, Doctor Doom, King of Latveria, and Kang, Temporal Tyrant loot, grow the board, and fuel mayhem cards like Norman Osborn // Green Goblin and The Squadron Sinister from the graveyard. Token generation from Madame Hydra, Mysterio, Master of Illusion, and Red Ghost, Intangible Genius combines with anthems in Doctor Octopus, Master Planner, The Masters of Evil, and The Squadron Sinister to close games through combat. Secondary Plan payoffs - Glorious Purpose and Construct a Cosmic Cube - offer explosive card advantage and turn-stealing inevitability.
