Ixhel Excels (Exhilerating) by GoodGuyGabeZ

Format: Commander

Commander: Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a focused Abzan Infect/Toxic strategy led by Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa. The primary game plan is to apply early poison counters through efficient creatures like Skrelv, Defector Mite and Venerated Rotpriest, then pivot into a "Corrupted" value engine. Once opponents have three poison counters, Ixhel provides massive card advantage by exiling and allowing you to play opponents' spells. The deck wins by reaching the 10-poison-counter threshold, utilizing a heavy Proliferate package featuring Evolution Sage, Bloated Contaminator, and Contagion Engine to bypass blockers. Secondary win conditions include overwhelming the board with Mite tokens from White Sun's Twilight or Skrelv's Hive, and dropping high-impact finishers like Tyrranax Rex. Ixhel acts as a crucial mid-game bridge, turning the deck from a linear aggro strategy into a resilient midrange engine that uses opponents' resources to seal the game.
