Deck overview

This Boros Voltron deck focuses on converting Lightning, Army of One into an immediate lethal threat. Lightning features first strike, trample, and lifelink, alongside the Stagger ability, which doubles all damage dealt to an opponent until your next turn once Lightning connects in combat. When paired with double strike or massive power buffs like Colossus Hammer and Excalibur, Sword of Eden, Stagger triggers during the first strike damage step to double regular strike damage, eliminating an opponent in a single swing with 21+ commander damage. The deck achieves exceptional consistency through a dense suite of 7 specialized Equipment tutors and multiple cost-cheat engines such as Puresteel Paladin, Forge Anew, and Sigarda's Aid. Plan resilience is supported by a comprehensive suite of free and low-cost protection spells, while extra combat spells like Karlach, Fury of Avernus and Seize the Day accelerate the elimination clock across all three opponents.
