Deck overview

This is a Mardu Legends midrange deck helmed by Shanid, Sleepers' Scourge. The plan is straightforward: cast Shanid, Sleepers' Scourge early, then chain legendary creatures, artifacts, and lands to draw cards off his trigger while building a menacing board. Shanid grants menace to the rest of the legendary army, turning every body into an evasive attacker. The deck wins primarily through combat-amplified by extra-combat payoffs like Eomer, Marshal of Rohan and Moraug, Fury of Akoum, anthems such as Flowering of the White Tree and Heroes' Podium, and token engines like Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon and God-Eternal Oketra. Secondary pressure comes from incidental drains (Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, Arbaaz Mir, Bontu's Monument) and a single registered combo line that is difficult to assemble consistently. Recursion via Primevals' Glorious Rebirth, Ratadrabik of Urborg, and Alesha, Who Laughs at Fate keeps the legendary army sticky after wipes.
