Deck overview

This Golgari deck is a synergistic Squirrel tribal and token midrange strategy helmed by Hazel of the Rootbloom. The deck focuses on deploying low-cost token generators in the opening turns, establishing Hazel on Turn 3 or 4, and utilizing her end-step trigger to double Squirrel tokens each turn cycle. Hazel also acts as a powerful mana battery by tapping tokens for mana, enabling explosive turns where the deck casts high-impact payoffs ahead of curve. Card advantage is maintained through engines like Skullclamp, Toski, Bearer of Secrets, and Food-foraging mechanics. On Turn 5, the deck converts wide token boards into lethal threats via powerful anthems such as Beastmaster Ascension, Banner of Kinship, and exponential token multipliers like The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. Life drain from Valley Rotcaller and menace from Camellia, the Seedmiser close out the table by Turn 7.
