Deck overview

This monogreen deck is piloted by Kona, Rescue Beastie, a dedicated creature-cheat engine that exploits the Survival mechanic to drop game-winning permanents directly onto the battlefield without paying their massive mana costs. Supported by efficient 1-to-2 CMC mana dorks and low-cost tap enablers like Springleaf Drum and Paradise Mantle, Kona consistently comes down on Turn 3 and taps on Turn 4 to cheat colossal threats such as Blightsteel Colossus, Worldspine Wurm, Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant, or Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger. Once an initial bomb enters, the deck rapidly establishes a lethal board, leveraging secondary engines like Vaultborn Tyrant and Garruk's Uprising to replenish hand size and maintain momentum. Backup cheat options like Monster Manual and Natural Order ensure the game plan proceeds smoothly even if Kona is removed, while robust protection spells like Heroic Intervention and Tamiyo's Safekeeping shield critical pieces from opposing removal. The deck consistently closes out games around Turn 6 through crushing trample combat damage.
