Deck overview

Maular, the Next Evolution rewards the deck for casting and attacking with creatures of mana value 7 or greater. The deck accelerates with Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Grim Monolith, Ancient Tomb, mana creatures, land auras, and creature-based mana engines. It then deploys large threats such as Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant, Etali, Primal Conqueror, Koma, World-Eater, and Old Gnawbone. Concordant Crossroads and Maelstrom Wanderer provide haste, while Pathbreaker Ibex, Craterhoof Behemoth, and Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus increase combat damage. Draw engines including Beast Whisperer, Guardian Project, The Great Henge, and Vaultborn Tyrant help sustain the board. The deck can create a decisive attack around turn 7, but it is not a compact combo deck. It remains vulnerable to removal, board wipes, counterspells, and disruption of its haste or commander.
