Deck overview

This deck combines a Grixis dice-rolling theme with the resilient recursion engine of Marchesa, the Black Rose. Early turns prioritize mana acceleration using artifacts like Arcane Signet and Component Pouch while fixing colors through utility lands. The mid-game establishes Marchesa, the Black Rose alongside dice-modifying engines such as Barbarian Class, Pixie Guide, and Farideh, Devil's Chosen, generating incremental card draw and protecting key creatures through dethrone triggers. The deck transitions into its primary win condition by resolving massive threats, predominantly the Ancient Dragon cycle—Ancient Copper Dragon, Ancient Silver Dragon, and Ancient Brass Dragon—alongside extra combat steps from Karlach, Fury of Avernus. A robust suite of cheap counterspells and targeted removal provides strong reactive defense against opposing threats, while Marchesa's end-step recursion ensures board wipes remain largely one-sided.
