Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Food and token midrange build helmed by the partner pairing of Pippin, Warden of Isengard and Merry, Warden of Isengard. The strategy focuses on establishing early creature and artifact token generation, transforming Food tokens into substantial mana and card advantage through engines such as Jaheira, Friend of the Forest, Night of the Sweets' Revenge, and Peregrin Took. Once a wide board is assembled, the deck closes out games by leveraging Pippin's built-in +3/+3 and haste overrun ability, resolving massive finishers like Moonshaker Cavalry, or draining opponents with Mirkwood Bats and Torment of Hailfire. It also includes a compact infinite creature loop with Rosie Cotton of South Lane and Scurry Oak. The deck offers robust resilience through commander redundancy and strong removal, but must carefully manage its exposure to mass artifact and creature board wipes.
